I basically stopped watching random ass contemporary anime movies a long time ago because most of them just don't compare to Takahata, Miyazaki, and Kon, and they absolutely FEEL like weak tea compared to a rich espresso, meanwhile Cartoon Saloon's Irish folklore trilogy made me fucking happy-cry three times out of three.The outrage would probably be about the first episodes, since Nagatoro does go a bit too overboard at the start of the manga. It's pretty easy to tell what going on in the anime, but I feel like the over-explaining is necessary in action manga.
